Dw and I were cleaning out a closet and came across some stuff we had saved from our trip to Disney in 1984.

Just thought some of you might be interested in what it cost to go there then.

3-Day World Passport  (Magic Kingdom and Epcot)
Adult $35, Junior 12-17 $33 and Child 3-11  $28

4-Day World Passport
Adult $45, Junior $42 and Child $36

1-Day Magic Kingdom or Epcot Center Ticket
Adult $15, Junior $14 and Child $12.

Yes, Dw and I thought it was expensive back then but just thought I would share this info for a laugh.

Grandkids want to go! Their other Pop-Pop pass away last week and the kids said there good byes. Somewhere in there the kids asked if they could go to Disney World! Of course I could not say no. When I had time to sit down and figure it out for a family of five, I almost pass out..... Camping is not an option... To costly, besides they will not let dogs in the camp grounds.. Staying at a government hotel on Disney is about 112.00 dollars per night. I did not think that was bad. We are thinking about the car train out of Va...

My parents brought us to Disney World the second year it was open. The Magic Kingdom was all they had. I don't remember what the admission price was but I do remember that once you got in you had to purchase a book of tickets that you would present at each ride. Some of the rides such as "It's a small World" were sponsored by corporations so you didn't have to use any of your tickets for that ride. We did run out of tickets and had to buy more to be able to continue to ride. I don't know if Fort Wilderness was open then, but we stayed at the Jellystone several miles away from Disney when we went. At that time Disney was in the middle of nowhere. We loved it then and then when I brought my kids about eight years ago they loved it too. Many wonderful memories spend both in the parks and camping at Fort Wilderness.

Last year we got the 6 day Ultra Park Hopper passes for about $320 each for 4 of us. We also went to Universal after our week at Ft Wilderness. I think our total trip including gas, food and camping was around $3000 and that was for 9 days in Florida and  2 nights at Assateague National Seashore in MD and a couple of overnights on the way down and back. This was towing my hybrid.

I still have some of those old passbooks.  All the E tickets have been used though. :%

:>  Can't remember what the price was back in 1977 when I went on my honeymoon with my first husband, but there was only the Magic Kingdom, we stayed in a honeymoon suite, were at Disney World for 4 days, went to Sea World, then on to Daytona Beach, then back to Jacksonville, and then home to Tennessee..10 days total.   We had about $1200 to start out with and bought a used Volkswagen Beetle with the left over honeymoon money when we got home!   My, my $1200 went a little further in those days!  Makes me feel OLD!
