july trip- Pacific City, OR

We are taking are most aggressive trip so far in July.  We are going to Pacific City, OR. Thousand Trails from the San fran area. We will meet inlaws there.      We will be there a week after a weekend at Shasta Lake.
Does anyone have experience in camping in that area and things to do for a week.. i.e. Go to Portland... go see... thanx in advance

we will be in Or. Mid June. The kids and I are going for 2 1/2 weeks from S. cal to Wash. and ending at the Rally in Pismo.  Last week I went to AAA an picked up the OR/Wash Tourbook (free if you're a member). We will be staying at Roamer's rest Rv park in Tualatin outside portland.
some things I found to do are: Oaks Park -a small amusement park, skating rink.
Oregon Maritime museum, Oregon musuem of Science & industry (over 200 hands on exibits) Oregon Zoo. Oregon Sports hall of fame & Museum. they have arboritums and botanical gardens. Portland Police Historical Museum.
