Malibu RV Park- Memorial Day Weekend 2005

We were going to try to go camping that weekend with you, but due to a low fare to Denver, we're going to go see our grandson. Oh and Mom and Dad too. We're excited as we have not seen the since Xmas.
 
We're camping at Heart Bar this weekend. Off of Hwy 38 above Redlands.

I'll keep checking in...let me know if i need to make reservations..BTW I'm working a 50th wedding anniversary in July 31st so that weekend won't work for me, but the 22-24 is good

Oops!  Sorry about that!  Dave's trial still hasn't gone into binding arb, but he said let's make the reservation for July 22nd-24th anyway.  Do you think we should each call Malibu RV and make our reservations separately or should one of us make the arrangements for all so that we can get together in V section?  
 
Moose, sorry we won't be seeing you and Paula (again!! ) but seeing family that you don't get to see often is important!  Have a wonderful time and I guess we'll have to wait to see you  until Yosemite!

My email and the internet were down at work today so I just saw this. Let me tell you that it feels very strange to be sitting in an office without access to the www!
So I think we all check in tomorrow and let them know that we are calling for v-section. I think putting the first night on one credit card would be a bit much unless you feel differently. So who's in? Looks like:

Okay gang.  The weekend of July 22 and 23 isn't looking so good for Malibu.  So it's time for plan b.  I checked with Newport Dunes and they have 4 sites available in the preferred premium and some others scattered in the area.  The problem is that they raise the price when the number of sites drops (sounds like the airlines) so the cost per night including tax is $102.30.  So what now?  Do we go for it or find another campground?
 
We still want to go back to Malibu and they said they have a lot of space in the V section for Labor Day weekend.  So we booked a spot (requested V1 but they won't guarantee it).  They don't reserve for groups so if anyone wants to join us call 800/622-6052.

Rats!!! :mad:  Well, that's a bummer.  Griffin's really going to be upset when I tell him.  All he's been talking about is Samantha this and Samantha that, especially if we see a young girl with short brown hair!    Princess Samantha has even been the latest new character in the nightly King Griffin bedtime stories.  Maybe you've seen her around....she tows one of those cute little teardrop campers.
 
We've been to and liked Newport Dunes, but $102.30 per night is too rich for our blood.  We may try to go to Vail Lake or maybe even a local new spot for us--ONeill Regional Park, which is about 5 minutes from our home.
 
We'll have to pass on Labor Day camping.  September is a really bad month for Dave.  :%

oh pooh...that's the problem with going to the bech in the summer and newport is going to be too much $$$ for us. Labor Day we will be at the river. You guys figure out a plan B for that weekend..hopefully not too far as my Aunt from Texas wants to meet for Dinner on that Sunday.. I will be on again sunday nite and then maybe not again until Tues when I'm at my friends in Orland..If its something I need to jump ion and reserve can someone call me on my cell??

Well since we are already heading out to Vail Lakes in October, why don't we plan a trip to O'Neill. We're up to trying out a new campground and it seems like a fun family spot. So are we a go for 7/22 and 7/23?
