Our family is new to this board.  We live in Arroyo Grande, CA and recently bought a used '98 Coleman Mesa.  We are new to tent trailers, but not to camping, having camped with a tent over 20 years.  We would love to join a camping club and as I understand there are two clubs in CA on this board?  Which to choose, or maybe both?
Anyway, just wanted to say Hi to everyone!

Hi Tom and Desi!!

First of all, let me say welcome, welcome, welcome!

As a dual-membership holder in NNC and SCC (Nick-Neff-Cough--don't ask; it's a long story, and SCCampers: Southern California pop up Campers), I say, join them both!! We are all a ton of fun, and that way you get twice as many rallies to attend! Here are our web sites: NNC and SCC Please feel free to visit them and learn if you really want to camp with people you meet on the Internet....uh....I mean, learn a litle bit more about what a wondeful group of people we all are. :D

Finally, please think about joining us (NNC and SCC) at our 2nd annual mega-rally in Pismo in June--here's the link to the boards: http://arveeclub.com/forumdisplay.php?f=71 It's in your backyard; I think there are still spaces available, and last year was a blast! There are even rumors of really bad karaoke bouncing around. ;)

Welcome again, and I'm glad you found us!!

Lori--Thanks for the warm welcome!  We definately would love to join Scampers in Pismo in June.  Even though we'd be camping literally in our own backyard, I think it would be great to meet everyone and swap stories.  I have surfed your site past 6 months and it looks like you do have fun.  I will contact gsmx2 for more on Pismo.  Desi

That's great news Desi!  Scott is camping this weekend but will get back to you soon.  Looking forward to meeting you in June!

Wow, you really will be in your own backyard if you go to Pismo, but that makes it easier to go home if you forget something!

My BIL and SIL live in Grover and my DH grew up there for a while.  Last year we left our trailer up there at BIL's house a few weeks before the Pismo rally (long story) and then GSM towed it to the CG for us.  It was literally about a mile and a half to tow it!

Hey, I tried to take my kids to Bernardo'z (sp?) but couldn't find it.  I was told it moved, but still couldn't find it.  Where the heck is it?  I can't believe how much Arroyo Grande has changed in the last 10 years!!  You're a bonafide big little city now, with a Starbucks and Coldstone and everything!

Burnardoz's is now called Doc Burnstein's in the Village (same building). Place changed names about 2 years ago. Still great ice cream in fact, you can actually watch them make it. Do you remember the overhead train? They still have it! I'm not originally from AG, but my DH is and yes, things have changed. However, no matter how busy traffic is, people still stop for the roosters who insist on crossing the street in front of City Hall!
