We were wondering if you had AC installed after you purchased a pop-up, how much did it run you for your unit?  I am getting quotes from companies and they have extremely different costs for the same AC unit with the same installation (support bars, etc)   .

Also, has anyone tried installing one themselves?  I have an auto mechanic and an HVAC guy in the family and we were tossing around maybe doing it ourselves.  If you have, any advice you could share?

Thanks to everyone in advance!

From time to time, Camping World will offer a special on installations, thats one place to look if there is one nearby.

Bill (Oz and Us) did his own install and has it in pictures on his Webshots account: http://community.webshots.com/user/ozandus

If you have an AC man and a mechanic in the family, what more  do you need for an installation?.... Go for it............

Go for it. Most AC's come with a template that shows exactly where the holes should be drilled and/or cut. Just take your time, measure twice and cut once. Good luck

I paid $750 for the Carrier Air V with heat installed in my PU in 2002.:)
