Anyone pulled a pop up with a Ford Taurus Wagon?  Reading the ratings, it looks like it can pull that, but I was wondering if anyone had done it.  We have a 2001 3.0 v6.

I have a 1998 Taurus wagon with the V6 and it is only rated to tow 1000 pounds.  I know that andym86 tows with a Taurus wagon, you might want to email him.:)

I agree with tlhdoc - andym86 is the expert when it comes to towing with a Taurus wagon...  :p

Hi Guy's

Thanks for the vote of confidence! Coming home,on Rt 80, from work on Thursday,I saw somebody towing a Travel Trailer( in the 20 foot range)
with a Crown Vic. Was that you, Rick?

Well,  Markfnc,  Post any questions or send me an email .
I use a 93 Taurus Wagon with the 3.0 engine to tow a 2000 Coleman Cheyenne. Now this is already a little past the limits and not for everyone.
I installed a Trans. Cooler(a must!) and rear shocks that I can pump up with air,to get the proper level.
I also have electic brakes on the Cheyenne and installed a Brake Controller on the Taurus. Also ,I would suggest NOT to tow in Overdrive.
I hope this helps.

What kind of trailer do you plan on towing?

We were thinking of pulling a pop up camper. 2000 - 3000 lbs were the ones we were looking at yesterday. I dod the math again this weekend, adn it looks like it is supposed to be able to only pull 750 lbs.

Thanks, Mark
