My tow vehicle was hit yesterday while parked. The passenger-side rear door is all smashed in!

And we've got a major trip planned, starting in a little over a week. I wonder if we'll be able to get it fixed in time?

This is the THIRD time in about a year and a half that one of my vehicles has been damaged by someone smashing into it while parked. To make things even more amazing, each time it has been a family member who has done the damage. This time it was my dad. Geez. What am I doing wrong????

That stinks!  Being the 3rd time maybe your bump shop will push you ahead and get the job done. By now you should be on a 1st name basis with them.

My vans been hit 4 times while parked, 3 times on the same door and once on the center side doors. I gave up on fixing the drivers door. We'll drive it till it dies anyhow.

Maybe it's the color?  Ours is kind of a golden tan.

Sorry to hear about your car.  I was in an accident a couple of years ago that put my tow vehicle in the shop for 2 months.  Of course the day after the accident was the day we were supposed to leave for one of our week long trips.  Unfortunately, there are not too many places (if any) that rent tow vehicles.  It isn't so much the receiver but trying to find one with the wiring fro the brake controller.

I hope you are able to get the car fixed before you leave so your summer ins't ruined.

First name basis? Yeah, actually. But when I called, the guy I know no longer works there. Oh well. They still took good care of me and booked it for Monday next week. It should be done by Wednesday, and our trip is still on. Woo hoo!

1.  Re-evaluate your choice of parking spaces.

2.  Surround your car with used tires, like the tug boats do.

3.  Put a sensor alarm on your car for the perimeter -- anyone comes within six inches of the car, the alarm emits a deafening sound.

4.  Remind me never to come to visit you and leave my car parked near yours.

Glad you still will be able to go on vacation!:p
