I'm being replaced!

I took over the editor position for Pop UP Times in February 2003. I think I've done an OK job but it takes talent that I don't have to get the content right and get the magazines out on time, which I haven't been able to do.

I'm pleased to announce the addition of Bob Zagami as our new editor. He is an experienced RV industry journalist and was the editor for RV News, a well known business to business publication for 6+ years. Bob is very well connected in the RV & campground industry and will share his knowledge with us. He and his family camped in pop ups and travel trailers for years and now he and his wife enjoy their park model on a seasonal site in a Maine campground where they spend most weekends.

We plan to keep the same family style format with plenty of pop up camper info but look for some welcomed changes in the near future.

I'll maintain my advertising and circulation duties and will most likely be the one you'll see in the campgrounds.

Well now, that is a surprise! Bob had emailed me a while back and told me he was no longer with RV-News and wanted to stay active in the RV industry. To see Bob turn up here is a real surprise. I'm glad he's on board, guess that means I'm going to have to pony up some money and re-subscribe!

Dave, you will be missed.  The fact that Bob comes with your endorsement is a sign all is in good hands.  I would imagine the bright side is the load taken off your shoulders.  Good luck in your new position.

Sometimes change is good - let's hope it is in this case. At least you'll still be involved with PUT. Does this mean less pressure? More time to concentrate on the things you enjoy? Maybe you'll have more time to camp with DW since DD will be away.

My DH was downsized twice in 3 yrs but he seems to love the job he has now. Although it's less pay (not good with college bills starting), he enjoys his work and better yet, he gets home at 5:30, which is a really nice change from the typical 8am-8pm day he used to have. So, some changes can be a blessing.
