Went to look at a 1989 Coleman Sequoia today and it was in excellent shape.  The owner is asking 2900 for the camper.  I looked up the blue book value and the high end retail is about 2200.  I am a beginner to pop up campers and know next to nothing about them.  I looked at a much newer Jayco but it was not as clean as the older Coleman.  Anyone out there in PU land have an idea if this unit is solid and is 2400 too much to offer?
Thanks

I would suggest you print out the valuation you have and present the seller with it.  They may have pulled their price out of thin air and be willing to reduceit in line with the value you have found.  Also, if they're asking $2900, realize they want actually about $2500 for it, since no one asks exactly what they want, but usually ask more.

I would opt for older in better shape, than a newer basketcase any day.

I agree with the above reply. The $ 2,900.00 sounds too high, where as  I don't suspect the seller will take less than $ 2,200.00.

Start your bid at $ 2,200.00, and barter to around the $ 2,500.00 price.
