Does anyone have any info to share about Grayton Beach SP in Florida?  We just booked a 5 night stay there from Feb 27-Mar 3 at the campground and I don't know anything about the actual campsites.  Just wondering.  Did a search on this thread but couldnt find anything.  Thanks so much

Grayton is a very nice, but small state park and campground. It has one camp loop and 1 bathhouse in the middle of the loop.  The sites are nice and have alot of brush for privacy, though there are alot of sites that have no shade or very little.

The area is beautiful and you are close to Seaside and Destin.

We are going to Grayton for the first time in few weeks.  How is the campground?  Does anyone have any suggestions for things to do nearby?

The campground is nice.  It's not paved, but a dusty gravel.  So, don't wash your car or camper before you go, because it will just get dusted.

The sites are good size but during the day....NO SHADE at all. Very hot.  You have a ton of privacy on either side of you, but nothing overhead for shade.

When you leave the state park, turn to the right and cross over the bridge & you are in Seaside. Alot of nice shops, places to eat.

To the left, about 15 min away is Destin.  Outlet shopping, and alot of nice places to eat also.

Just got back from Grayton Beach and thought I would give a report.  We absolutely loved the campground.  The sites are narrow (perfect for a pop up).  There is lots of privacy with all of the vegatation.  The bathroom is easily accessible from most of the camp sites.  The walk to the restroom is like going down a hiking trail.  The restrooms were very clean and had A/C.  The campground is small so this translates to a very uncrowded beach.  We did see two sharks about 30 feet from the beach.  So be cautious!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The campground is between Destin and Panama City so there are lots options for things to do.

BTW we drove through St Andrews while we were in Panama City Beach and I have to say I like Grayton Much better.  Although St Andrews has few more amenities such as a laundry and camp store, it is a little too crowded for my taste.

We will be back next year.

We also saw sharks every day that we were at Grayton beach.  On one day, a shark actually chased 2 children into shore. Scared everyone on shore. Thank goodness the shark turned just in the nick of time, otherwise, it would have been bad.
