DH and I are in the process of buying an 87 Palomino. We know for a fact that it needs new tires. Anybody know what size/brand is the best? This is our first one and since I am the OCD/Mrs. Fix-it I wan't to know whis kinda stuff up front. After looking at some of the MODs I am nervous about our ability to fix things. :yikes: We put in our first faucet Sunday and a new floor in the shed on Saturday (even used a skill saw) all fingers still attached! Poor DH his dad wasn't patient enough to teach him however, mine let us do everything!!! I try not to take over and let him be "the man" but sometimes its just quicker if i do it!!!!!

Congratulations on the new trailer. :)

You want to get trailer tires with ST in the name, which stands for special trailer. You don't want to get car or truck tires. You will need to check what size tire is on the trailer and replace them with the same tire IF they are trailer tires. Do you know the model of the trailer or the size of the tire (written on the side wall of the tire)? If so post it and someone here may know what the correct size is or if the tires seem like the correct tires for the trailer. You can also contact Palomino and ask them what size tire you should have on the trailer.

This thread has some good tire information on it.

Miller Tyme

Just an FYI-

 My '85 has 20.5x8.0x10 Carlisle USA Trail tires, installed last year, which replaced what I believe were the original tires. I purchased these at Fleet Farm, an Upper Midwest farm supply store. They are trailer tires (ST) as Tracy noted.

 BTW- Tracy--

 They're asking about a Palomino, not a Jayco.....:yikes::eyecrazy::eyecrazy:
