Turn Key

The DW got me a digital camera for Christmas.  Actually, I got to pick what I wanted after Christmas.  Got the camera, card reader and all the rest of the needed " goodies" .  To top it off, the DW has been wanting a scanner so we got that as well.

Being as I m a bit " computer challenged" , I found myself some what intimidated at having to hook all this up and getting it working.  But, with a bit of positive input from " Trlrboy"  and a few well timed prayers, all has been installed and is running as it should!  I even find that I can take pretty good pictures!  Best part is that if I don t like what I get, good bye pixels and try again!  Neat!  Looking forward to posting pictures from our trips.  Should save a lot of words in the reviews I post.

Turn KeyWhat kind did you get? Make sure your computer has plenty of hardrive space or at least have a CD burner to transfer the pictures to CD. Also make sure that you have enough memory to take a lot of pictures while you are away. Some higher resolutions take up a lot of space.

I love our digital camera. It has been one of the best things that we got. The best part is printing out your own photos.

 Viking99Viking99:
Got an Olympus C-400 Zoom.  Got 4.0 megapixal, 10X zoom and lots of " bells and whistles"  that I m just beginning to understand.  DW also got me a second 128 mb Media Card plus two sets of Monster Batteries and the charger.  Real tickled with the whole thing so far.
I also have a big hard drive and a " burner"  so storage room should not be an issue.  My DW thinks I m a bit nuts but I don t like taking up hard drive space for document storage.  All of that goes on floppy disc.  This also helps make sure I won t loose this data if something goes wrong with the computer.  Planning on doing the same thing with pictures only they will go to CD.  She says I worry too much at times but what the heck...it works for me [:D] !
Thanks for the heads up, Viking99.  Hope to be posting some camping shots in the near future!

Turn KeyNow that you have the camera, I have found something else that is a must.  I bought the Uead DVD Picture Show.  You can put 99 shows of 99 pictures each on one disk.  You also can put background music and customize the first page that shows you what shows are on the disk.  But the best part is that when you have finished making the disk, just pop it into your DVD player and watch it on your big-screen TV.  Makes you feel like you are there again.

Probably the second best thing I bought for my pics besides the camera.  I have looked around for it and couldn t find it (at the time) in any of my area stores.  If your interested go to the Ulead web-site.  Thats where I picked mine up at.

I just went to the ulead site.  Now they have the DVD Picture Show 2.  It is an awesome program.  Just use it on your cd burner.
