Back From Da U.P.

Well we made it back from a week long trip. We had planned on staying longer but due to illness (mom) we decided to cut it short. No big deal. Got lots of pictures of waterfalls, sunsets and just about anything that came along.

Tahquamenon Falls were beautiful as usual and we had a great campsite right on the river. McClain State Park has to be the best kept campground I have ever been to. Clean bathrooms; cleaned 10:30 am and 3 pm everyday. Great views, our site was #15 with no other campers blocking our view of the lake even though we were on the second road. The weather was almost perfect. Cool temps in the high 60's and low 70s during the day and upper 40s to low 50s at night. Just a touch of rain and lots of wind as is usual coming off of Lake Superior in the evening. I highly recommend this campground.

All in all we had a great trip. To much to tell at this writing but I have a ton of pictures on my webshots site. Have a look if you like.

BTW, the kids renamed the pup. It is now known as, "Da Camper, Ehh!!!

Actually there were very few mosquitos or any other bugs. It has been hot and dry for most of the summer so the bug population was down. Even at Whitefish Point the black flies were almost non-existant. Whitefish is notorius for black flies. I didn't get bit once from a skeeter. The only hookups we had was electricity. Most of our state parks here only have electrical hookup with the eception of a few parks.

Marcy showed us some great Michigan State Parks last year and maybe she will show us a couple more this year.

You people in Michigan are very lucky.  You have some beautiful state parks with great sunsets.

Great pictures of your vacation.
The last time I was up that way was when my grandmother passed away. She was in the hospital in Saginaw(sp). I drove over that bridge.
But the pictures of the sunset were great.. Glad you had a great time.
