Mountain View Campground in Haymarket, Va. is about to be forced to close due to development.  Despite the fact that it is located in the rural crescent at the base of Bull Run Mountain, Toll Bros. Inc. plans to acquire it to build luxury homes.  It seems that it is not a done deal and if enough people speak up against the acquisition of the land for this purpose (especially people residing in Prince William County, Va.) that this project could be halted.  The same package of land was in the parcel acquired by Disney in the 1990's and the community put a halt to it.

If you've ever camped at Mt. View you can attest to the beauty of the lake and its bucolic surroundings.   It has always been a wonderful place for families with children.  My family and I have enjoyed canoeing on the lake, swimming, fishing, and enjoying the sounds and the sites of the natural atmosphere.  Every visit has been like a trip back to the 50's when life was a little slower and people were a whole lot nicer.

Please visit //www.friendsofmvcampground.com and see how you can help to save this treasure of the Virginia countryside before it is too late.
