Tomorrow my husband and I are supposed to go look at a Damon camper Camplite model 2208 and I was searching these forums on info about that brand and I found a post about them that said to run away from them with no other info! Its in the Southatlantic section, I tried to respond twice asking for info but for some reason it isn't showing my response either time. Hopefully this is the link to that post http://www.arveeclub.com/showthread.php?t=51754&highlight=damon  If anyone has info about this brand, please please please tell me! Thanks so much!!!

Tina, I wouldn't run. Those parking lots can be brutal. Just kidding! Here's a thread from another forum that may help shed light on Damon Camplites: http://www.popupexplorer.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=13921 (PUX is a good place but this one is too!) From the sounds of it, the name went away but the camper is still supported for the current company that owns it.

Good luck!

Thanks for that link, it gave me some good info. We went to look at it this morning, its nice but not very taken care of, it needed a lot of cleaning in addition to just being "old."  But it was so roomy we were still thinking of it ..... until tonight!! We bought a Coleman Utah 2002, we are hoping it was a great purchase, they were desparate to sell and we think we got a great deal. Its in perfect condition, I don't feel like I need to go in there and scrub it down, just a normal cleaning, its really in great condition. WE had just left a dealership where a friend of a friend of my husband's worked there and walked out with us and told us everything to look for in pop-ups etc and we asked all kinds of questions about the Coleman roof among other things. He told us exactly what to look for (he is in the service department so works on this) and told us all about it. My husband checked it thoroughly and felt very confident that it looked in great condition and looked just as the guy at the dealer said it should. We felt it was a risk worth taking, we think it will bring our family years of great camping!!!  So I'm off to ask many more questions in other posts!!

Used 2B PopUPTimes

Damon sold their towables operation (including the Camplite line) to Keystone who was purchased by Thor who no longer produces any tent campers.

The way I see it, you're on your own with any RV over 3 years old, since no parts & labor are covered under a mfr's warranty.

Camplites share the same lift systems, appliances, tenting and suspension as many of the brands still being manufactured so if you find one in good shape for a good price go for it.
