Note: This is meant to be humorous, not useful.

Campground reviews are the "inside track" for campers.  They are vital for separating great campgrounds, mediocre campgrounds, and places to avoid.  Based on that importance, here are a few tips on writing a great useful review.

1) The subject line.

Never put useful information in the subject line.  Nobody searches by that, and nobody looks at it anyway.  So a subject line should not contain things like State, name of campground, or quality of campground.  Some examples:

Good time
Whoa, there!
Up North

2) Information about the campground.  What the campground is like doesn't count.  People talk about treed or open sites, privacy, and cleanliness, but nobody really cares.  Much more important is whether you had a good time, and how much beer you drank.  Here is a great example of a good description of a campground:

Went to a campground up north and had a great time.  Only brought a case of beer, but Billy-Bob's brother had another.  We went to the LS and picked up some more.  Drank 'till the fire went out.  Don't remember after that.

3) Contact information.  People don't need to find the campground, and if it's particularly nice, you don't want them to, or they might wreck it.  So when entering contact information, be sure to leave out the name of the campground and anything that might be used on Google to find it.  An ideal example would be:

It's easy to get to.  It's just 19 miles off the main highway near South Succotash.

Notice that the poster did not include the state, phone number, or the number of the highway (or which way to turn).  Nobody needs that stuff.  If you want to go there badly enough, you'll find it.

Finally, be sure to post it in the wrong forum.  If the campground is in Florida, post it in the West forum since both Florida and California have orange trees, or if it's in Maine, post it in the Canada and Alaska forum since someone in British Columbia might want to camp in Maine.  Someone looking in the North Atlantic forum for Maine campgrounds should know better.

Now you need to do one about postings in the classifieds!  When we were looking for a trailer, i finally posted a "helpful hints" article about posting your trailer for sale.  One of the biggies was to put the state and maybe the model in the subject line.  I'd see something promising, only to find out it's in Michigan and I'm in California!  Also, people were so vague in their descriptions -- sleeps six, has dinette, made by Coleman.  Okay, great.  How about checking the current models and tell me what floorplan it most closely resembles so I get an idea of what you're talking about!

Once again, thanks for your humor.  You always (almost) make me laugh! :D
