Dw and I will be leaving on Wednesday for our 6 to 8 week trip.

We thought about not going because of gas prices but have decided to go but cut out Florida and the Keys.

Also want to say thanks to all who repsonded to my previous threads asking for trip information.  That info has been printed and catalogued.

Enjoy the campfire while we are gone.

As one who has been on such a long trip, I can say from experience that you will never regret it.

Live life to the fullest, and take the opportunities that present themselves.

Thanks Tracy!

We had a great time as usual. Got chased out of the Leelenau Peninsula by fruit flies after 2 nights, have never seen so many little darn flies in one place! :yikes:. We were there long enough to do almost all the Vinyards.

From there we went to the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, spent the remainder of the time there in the Platt River CG. Great CG, the quietest I've ever been in!!  Kayaked the Platt River in the middle of a nice Salmon run, no fishing gear with us tho. They sure would have made a great dinner. Kayaking in the midst of all those big fish was pretty neat. The Cyotes howled at night a few times for us while we drank our stock of Leelenau wine around the fire :)

Gene says HI to all and says you can send Monetary Gas contributions any time ;)

SkipP

Cicadas in Indiana, Fruit Flys in Michigan.....hmmmmmm.....starting to see a trend here Marcy!:yikes:

Glad you had a good visit....in spite of the bugs!

Marcy we spent 10 days in the Platte River campground 4 years ago. I agree it is a very quiet campground. The other campground in the park was very noisy in comparison. Glad you have a great time.:)

You forgot the odd human critters she attracts when she camps, Skip!!!   :D

Sounds like you all had a great time, Marcy.  Glad to hear it.  I'd send Gene money, but then I couldn't go camping!  LOL
