It  was  a long  over  due  visiting  day  up  at  my  old  pal MXL. Sensitised  by  information here  I  was  able  to  take  real inventory  today  sunday.
NOW  I  can  but  use  my  imagination  as  to  what  your  reaction (or so)  was  when  i  questioned  placeing  an air  conditioner  at  the  front  or  rear  of  the  box  of  the  MXL. It  sadly  goes  to  show  how  often  i  get  to  see  it. With  its  angled  lower  portion  at  the  front  and  back (not  a  squared  boxy  construction)  naturally  only  the  side  mentioned  can  work my  regrets  there.
I  do  need  to  know  however  AND  PLEASE,   how.....what  are  the  openning  instructions  for  those  spring loaded  "arms"?  ARE  TWO PEOPLE  MANDATORY  to  open  a  fold  a wall.......cant  be  such, what  if  an  owner  wants  to  "R.V." alone? The  springs  are  a  sad  find. The  rear  driver  is  nonexistant  which  answers  why  the  rear  is  so  heavy, the  remaining  3 springs  are  on  rigged  connections, or  BENT  connections. Today  I  was  only  able  to  BEGIN replaceing  repairing  tow  lights  and  wiring.
It  would  be  to  my  advantage  also  to  remove  the  surge  brake  cylinder  to  attend  to  it  I openned  it  and  it  looked  interesting, If  this  poor  old  palomino  simply  needs a little  T.L.C. I  cant  wait  to  do  that  for  me  T.L.C.  a  car  a  camper  ....its  fun......GULP  COSTLY(?)  fortunatley  not  always. Thank  you  for  now. As  always  will  be  I  am  very  excited  to  see  your  reply!

If the springs are indeed shot, check with a local Palomino dealer, who may have some in stock, or Vanguard sells replacement springs factory direct for about $25 each, and the install is a do-it-yourself job. Many members of the different on-line camping boards have done this repair themselves. So far, I'm lucky mine don't need to be replaced.
Basically, position one person on the door side, front. Then, the other person on the opposite side, rear. Then both pull the lift bars forward, and with one hand on the lift arm, use the other hand to lock the sides in place, in the "C" clamps on the side of the rig. Then, attach the inside door clip, and opposite wall clip(above the stove/sink assembly.) Ideally, yes, you can set-up with one person, but 2 works much better and faster. My son and I can have the rig set-up in just minutes. A lot depends on the condition of the springs, which obviously make it so much easier.:D
