Car Snow Tire Question

I recently bought some Michelin X-Ice snow tires for my Scion.

Since putting them on, a couple of times I have noticed a warm rubber smell after driving the car on dry pavement.

I checked with Michelin and they said this could happen with new tires and that the smell should go away after some mileage is put on.  I have about 100 miles on them now.

I do have an appointment at my Scion dealer to have the car checked but I was wondering if anyone else has run into this.

It's not something I've seen.  Or smelled.

I'm no tire expert but I think a "snow" tire is a softer rubber than a regular road tire and at higer speeds they heat up more. What's the speed rating for this tire?

Thanks for all the great suggestions. LOL

I think I might have figured out what was wrong.

These tires are supposed to be mounted in a certain way with the tires rolling in the correct rotation.

I noticed tonight that the two tires on the passenger side were mounted with the rotation different from the driver's side.  Have to love those guys at Sam's Club.

So it is off to Sam's to get this straightened out tomorrow.

He sure does.  It is his chick magnet.;)   He had women flagging him down along the side of the road when he first go it.

Gene if you could smell the rubber the tires may be damaged.  I would ask Sam's to replace them.
