But tell us about your adventures (no matter how small); it will give you (and us) a reason to hope for spring!

Just spent a weekend on Mission Bay in San Diego.  T-shirt & shorts weather during the day, cool (for us!) nights.  Not a cloud in the sky!  I've done the Minnesota "thing" and while the leaves are drop-dead gorgeous, there isn't enough money in the world to get me to spend another winter or summer there.  Y'all really ought to try a winter out here!  Don't know when I'll be going out again, but it'll sure be before May!

We winterized ours this past weekend too. It was doubly sad because it was such a spectacular weekend.  It would have been perfect camping weather if we hadn't been so busy. We're getting ready for relatives to visit for Thanksgiving, had a house to clean, floors to wax and buff, groceries to buy, two truckloads of wood to chop and stack, leaves to rake, lawn to mow and fertilize........ whew....now I know why I love camping...it gets me away from all the house work!  ;>     Seems every weekend from now until after Christmas is booked with something, however, we've been known to take off in the winter when we get those odd warm weekends.  We just revert to using water jugs for water like our old tenting days.

Same feeling here :(

Season ended at our campsite the first weekend of October.  (If leaving, we had to be out by 5pm Sunday afternoon)......so we dragged the Westlake home, anticipating a dry camp trip to the White Mountains the next weekend.  But during the week we realized that we had to too much to do before heading for Hawaii for two weeks, so the camper stayed at home.

Then the rain came, so it was up the entire time we were gone.  First weekend home the weather is beautiful and as noted earlier, would have been a fantastic camping weekend.  Unfortunately it was time to get down to work.....so we winterized the system, pulled out all the linens, blankets, pillows (the mouse-attracting stuff), removed the gas tank and battery then closed it up and pushed it back to its lonely spot in the back of the yard.....not to be opened again till spring.  (The season at our NH site opens again on 1 May but they'll let us up there for setup/day trips at the middle of April).

I'm sure we'll head up to another favorite site in Maine (near Bathe) as it opens up in April and we won't want to wait that long!

I know that all of us Northerners are feeling the same....so we occupy ourselves with home improvement projects for the winter!  (That and making sure the Snowblower is gonna start)!

Yeah, I just winterized this last weekend as well. It's a good thing because they're calling for snow tonight. But I hardly have time to feel sad. I've got four snowmobiles to prep for the season. I have a rear suspension to rebuild, a clutch spring to replace, a windshield to replace (don't ask  ;)  ), some carbs to clean, a wash & wax, registration stickers to scrape & replace, etc.  It's actually easier to prep for camping... it's only one vehicle to work on! But whereas my "slow" season (sittin' around the campfire making s'mores) is winding down, my fast season (flying through the woods all day long in 10 below weather) is crankin' up. No... I can see where some might like to live where it's warm all the time, but not this guy. I look forward to the different seasons. The winters used to drag, but now I actually get sad as April approaches.  :(  Different strokes for... well, you know the rest!  :D
