Pull the plug??

A man and his wife were sitting in the living roomand he said to her, "Just so you know, I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine and fluids from a bottle. If thatever happens, just pull the plug."
 
His wife got up, unplugged the TV and threw outall of his beer.

I understand the part about pulling the plug, but he never said stop supplying the fluids from the bottle...that seems just a little unfair to me!
