2006 West Coast Rally - Pismo, Aug 10-13/14

Just wanted to announce that at least a chunk of us have managed to plan a West Coast Rally!

In previous years, it was held in June - a time that the campground allowed group bookings.  This year, the West-Coasters (North & South California groups) decided to go to Yosemite at the end of June, since last year's August was too hot.

People still wanted to go back to Pismo Beach - so we opted to go in August.  The campground did not allow reserving sites / group bookings for July and August... and did not open reservations until Feb 1st (today), and charge a cancellation fee.  They also said that August will probably sell out completely in 1-2 days!

So, a smaller group of us were able to commit.  This morning, I got through on the phones (after over an hour of busy-redial-busy-redial).

I booked 16 total sites - 13 for people who commited, and 3 under my nieces' names that can be used for 3 more families (they needed individual names for every site).


Can we get a 2006 Western Rally Forum created?

In a way, there are 2 Western Rallies; the June Yosemite, and the August Pismo.  Neither are that large, because they were planned during winter when many don't read the forums

In addition, can the semi-2006-rally thread (in the NCCNEPHCOFF (Nick-Neff-Cough)) forum be "locked" and moved into the new 2006 West Rally forum so people can keep all planning together?

If AzusaTeach wants, perhaps also move her Yosemite thread into the 2006 West forum (from SoCal PopUp Campers (SCCampers)), since that is also a north/south CA camping event...

Great idea!

For anyone interested in the Yosemite trip, we'll be going June 29-July3.  There's more info. under the SCCampers thread right now.  This one's a bit different, in that you can make your own reservations and still be with us.  They don't assign sites until we get there, and as long as I have your name I can tag a site for you (I think).  

In talking with the CG today, it appears that they're about half full at this time.  Three weeks ago nobody had reserved a spot, so things are beginning to happen.

We'd love to have anyone join us -- provided you're fun-loving folks!    If you need more info., please feel free to PM or e-mail me.

Glen I PM'ed Lori she is one of the moderators and asked her to start a thread. I think this qualifies. I know the Rally has to be a certain numbers of days to go in the rally forum
