Thank you, thank you.  It was "The Big One."

The day after my birthday was our opening day for softball and I was at the field the night of my birthday until 8:00 PM, then up at 4:45 AM and at the field by 5:30 to get ready for a pancake breakfast that we had sole 1200 tickets for.  We had over 1000 show up based on the fact we ran out of cups and had bought 1000 (we took some from the snack bar).  We had opening ceremonies, our game was in the first time slot (odd, we were the only 12 and under team playing that early, but I liked it) and then did a few more things and came home.  We got home about 1:00 and all I wanted to do was take a long nap.
But when I opened my door the house was full of people yelling "Surprise!" at me.  How in the world Paul did all that without me knowing is still a mystery.

Wow!  You're 50?  You dont look a day over 45!! :p ;)  (j/k) :)

Sounds like you had a wonderful birthday!  I once had a surprise party for Dave.  Trust me, it is NOT an easy thing to pull off, especially on you "legal" types. Kudos to Paul for making your birthday special! And happy (belated) birthday!! :cake:

Not to mention us nosy types! I had my suspicions, but dismissed it when we got through opening day. There was just no way he wouldn't rush me from the field after our game if he had something planned, and there's no way he'd have a party for me after how tired we knew we'd be.

I was asleep by 7:15 that night, slept in until 8:00 AM the next morning, went to church, came home and took a four hour nap. That's what happens when you get old, huh?

Edit:  And you can't type for beans either!  Man-oh-man, the fingers are going haywire lately.

I always say: I'm a great speller but a horrible typist. :D
