We went camping at this park on February 17-20, 2006 with John and Teresa Baker (Chelsie's Dad from NNC). They had found this place last summer after they purchased their ROO.

It is located about 15 miles outside Marysville, CA and even though there were no leaves on the trees (Sycamore's, hence the name) it was a very nice place. Some of the sites have cement slabs for the trailer/RV, but most have gravel and are pretty level with hook-ups. They also have cemet slabs for the picnic table and fire pits, which makes it very nice. Judging from all the Sycamore trees, it looks like it would be very shady durinig the summer. We were parked in sites E1 and E2. The "E" loop looks like it would be a very good spot for a group camp out because if you look at the web site map (www.sycamoreranchrvpark.com) where you see the empty area to the left of sites E1 & E19 they have a cement slab with an awning and tables set up, a large half barrel barbque and a large fire pit. We were surrounded by a small creek (Smith Creek) on one side and you had to cross over a wooden bridge to get to the restrooms & showers and on the other side (1-2 rows away) was the other creek (Dry Creek). Both were pretty full because they had been flooded out when the Yuba River overflowed and they had to evacuate the place. So, they were in a repair mode after the 10 feet of water subsided. Since there were not very may people there camping (we had the loop almost to our selves) they only charged us $20 per night (Group campout charges are $25 per night with 10+). The staff was very nice and the park is located less than 1/4 mile past the turn off to Collins Lake. One of the staff persons point out to us where a pair of beavers had one tree cut down and were working on another one to build their dam across Dry Creek. It was very nice sitting around the campfire and at night you could hear the bull frogs and owl, and there are a lot of birds. We saw several people catching fish from Dry Creek.

I recommend this place and think that the NNCers would really enjoy this nice shady place.

This campgrounds sounds very nice.  When we have a weekend available we will have to give it a try.  We enjoy Francis Lake quite a bit which must be in the same general area as this place.

Jacqui,

This place is closer than Francis Lake. We drove over to look at Francis Lake and I personally think this place is nicer because the sites are larger and not so close together, but then you don't have the lake, so it is your choice. I have posted this review in the NNC site also.
