new to the forum

Hi all, just wanted to introduce myself and say HI!  My neighbor gave me a pile of pop up times the other day and after I browsed thru, I signed into these forums.  I have learned alot already!  We live in Maine, Brunswick, and I have been a camper since I was 7.  We had tents then a truck camper growing up.  DH, DD, myself and my elderly mother are the campers now.  DH, DD and I sleep in a tent, last fall we purchased a 1991 Palomino SXL hard side so that mom would have a warm, dry place to sleep and stay if it's raining, before this she slept in brothers tt and we've had a couple of pop ups a few years ago.   About all I have done so far (with this camper) was tow it home (with a 1992 Lumina Van) and set it up long enough to take out the stove top.  We'll use that area for countertop area, as we do ALL of our cooking outside.  We are totally set up for camping without the camper, this is really just a pricey bed for mom, and also solves the need to take a trailer for all of our other stuff!   We annually go north for a week each year, this year not until the end of July due to DH's new job and vacation schedule.  I am getting the itch tho!  I figure by the time we have our lawns cleaned up, it will be ok to open her up.  I did not do any cleaning in it last year, so will go all thru it and wash everything.  Then my favorite game, making every square inch useful!
So anyway, wanted to introduce myself, rather than be a lurker!

welcome to the boards! How far are you from the navy base? ex-dh was stationed there back in 80, So I saw up there for a while.

thanks for the warm welcome all!  Dee, I live pretty much live right across from BNAS!  We are off Jordan Ave in the little developement there.  For now our trips are regulated by an elderly mom, but we do love camping!  I haven't set up the camper yet this year, but did make a new propane tank cover for it today, monogrammed even! hahahaha

Welcome to the board Lisa. I am about 15 or so miles from you, I am in Richmond. I work in South Portland so I drive by the Topsham exit every day.

Before I bought my hybrid, I had a Viking popup for a couple of years and we enjoyed it a lot.
