My heart is heavy. I'm asking for your prayers.

I'm sure you may have heard about the minister in Selmer, TN who was killed. http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/03/24/pastor.slain.ap/index.html

Matthew Winkler and his older brother were both great friends of mine growing up. Went to college with his brother. This whole family are such sweet people, and this is a terrible event to happen to good people.

Not to make this a horrible thread, I'll tell a funny quick story about Matthew. One night we were at the Dairy Queen in Huntingdon, TN, and we didn't want to go through the inside line (too long or whatever). Neither one of us were driving yet, so we WALKED through the drive-through at Dairy Queen. Matthew made engine sputtering noises in the ordering microphone while I ordered.

Please pray for the Winklers.

I saw this story on msnbc's home page last night.  It is such a tragedy--they most definitely have our family's prayers.

PJay and I will pray for them, and also for you, Larry.  Losing a friend (even one you might not have seen in a while) can be a difficult thing.

Flashback about 15 years...I remember the shock of finding out a college friend of ours had been murdered.  Without going into details, Jeannie had told PJay that some day a member of her family would kill her - she didn't know who.  That's exactly what happened.  The news of what happened stayed with us for years.

I am stunned and saddened by this story.  I will be praying for the family and friends of the Winklers.

very sad to hear I'm so sorry...will be praying for the children...It's so hard when the innocent babies are always the ones who have to suffer most.
