I just bought a Viking 2005 leftoever model 2007. I pick it up this coming saturday. I have one question I can't wait to ask them at the dealer. I am told that you shouldn't open up popups when it is cold because of cracking the plastic windows. What temp does it need to be to open it up safely? I want to plan my first trip but that will determine when.

Thanks,

Congrats on your new pup.  Sorry I can't answer the questions about the windows, but I would think it wouldn't be an issue unless it's well below freezing.  I'm sure someone on here will have the real answer.

The general rule of thumb is that you have to treat the vinyl windows very carefully when they are below 20

Congratulations on the new camper!

I have never heard any set temperature for opening and closing the PU in the cold.  We did our coldest camping this past February, it was down to 8/9 degrees F over night and only in the 20's during the day.  One thing that does happen is that the tenting is harder to compress when cold.  I pop down and the let the camper sit for a little while before latching the roof.
