Other Carmel owners?

IMy wife and I are the new owners of an '03 Coleman Carmel by Fleetwood  We enjoy this camper very much and would really enjoy corresponding with other owners of the same model to discuss probems, mods, and just general feelings about this camper.  It's the first one we've ever bought and I'm sure it will always be a little special to us, even when we eventually upgrade (no plans yet!).  We were relieved to find that we managed to get one with the new roof, not the ones with the sagging problems.  We look forward to hearing from other Carmel owners!  You can email us directly at darkstar@wic.net.  Thanks. Hey there darkstar...

We had a 2003 Carmel that we bought brand new in May '03 until we traded it in last April for a new hybrid.  We ordered it with every option you could get from the factory: built in toilet, shower, hot water, furnace, etc...  It was a nice pop-up, we miss it sometimes.  The biggest problem we had with it was the seams ripping out in the cushions.  Other than that it is a really nice floorplan with the J shaped couch.  Fleetwood only made that floorplan for the 2003 model year.  I talked to a Fleetwood rep once when I was at the dealer and he told me that the Carmel was made by "mistake".  I guess an employee was fooling around with a Santa Fe floorplan and drew in the J shaped couch, and it got approved.  Not sure if this is true or not, but why would he tell me this if it wasn't??  Also the 2003 model year is the last "official" year of a Coleman pop-up.  You might have a collectors item on your hands 20 years from now...  LOL!  :p
