Just bought some of these PopupGizmos for this coming year. Question: Which is the best way to put them on ? Thanks...

When I bought mine years ago, they came with the little clips. After a windy and rainy storm which blew them away, I bought some bigger clips at HD. I've also put velco on the inside of my roof and on the gizmos so I don't have to use the clips at the top. Using the clips at the top work fine, but I like my velcro.

This sounds like a good idea. Do you attach them on before raising the roof all the way up ? Or do you put them on when the roof up ?

I haven't rec'd mine yet so I can't speak from experience.  There are some installation tips though on their website.  http://www.popupgizmos.com/
I have emailed Bob a bit and he has been great to answer any questions I have had, great service!

If it is hot out, put them on silver side out.  If it is cold, put them on with the colored side out.  I upgraded my old covers to the high wind system and they came with black clips that have a much stronger "pinch" than the red clips I originally used.:)

We raise the roof a few inches and clip the sides of the gizmo just underneath the roof at the top of the bunk tenting.  This will cause the top of the gizmo to be held in place at the top of the bunk by the inside of the roof once the roof is fully raised and the shepherd's hook is installed inside.  (In re-reading that, I hope that made sense!)

Then we finish raising the roof and put in the shepherd's hooks so the tenting material is now taut, and then DH clips down the sides.  Of course, he's a tall drink of water at 6'5" so you may want to take someone tall with you or use a step ladder if you can't reach. :)

Like Lori, we raise the top up about a foot and then put the gismos on. We also unroll our awning at this time if we're using it. By using the velco, I don't have to worry if the material is taught enough. I've purchased the heavier orange clips from HD. Still have the small ones and have thought of some uses for them, but will hold that thought.
