Upgrade from Tekonsha Voyoger

I have the Tekonsha Voyager brake controller and would like to upgrade to a self levelling unit. I don't like the jerkiness and the fiddling around I have to do with the Voyager. It seems like one moment the brakes are too aggressve and the next not agressive enough  :yikes: I'm looking at something like the Tekonsha Prodigy or Primus. Any thoughts on the difference between the primus and the prodigy units.
If I have the voyager unit is it just a case of unplugging this unit and using the same wiring into the new unit?

Never heard of the Primus.

But you would do well to get the Prodigy. Lots of good experiences from folks here. I use the Jordan Ultima, but would have no problem using the Prodigy. I only used the Ultima because of a wiring difficulty that was solved rather easily by using the Ultima.

I upgraded from a Tekonsha Voyager to a Tekonsha Prodigy, and am more than satisified with it.  But I would mirror Larry's words and would not hesitate to use a Jordan Ultima.  I believe you would pay more for an Ultima, but there is no better electric brake controller on the market.

Basically the Primus is the Prodigy without the boost feature. It's excellent for trailers weighing less than the TV. The boost feature is for a little extra beginning braking when the trailer weighs in excess of the TV.

Tekonsha started making the Primus to compete with cheap time delay controllers. With the same price there's no comparison.
