I want to be in Toronto in September, how hard is it to take something like the Bantam across the border? Or would it be best to park it in Niagra NY area and drive to Toronto for the Film Festival???? OR I do have tents, that can be an option, NOT one I relish...when I say tents, there may be several ladies flocking with me...

We camped in Toronto last year in August.  The border crossing concerned us before we went.  We crossed both ways with no problems.  They asked us the standard questions both ways and let us go through.  We never had to show ID, although they may if they wish, at any time.  At any rate, it almost seemed as though they didn't even see the PUP behind the car.  We crossed at the Lewisburg crossing.

We stayed in the Glen Rouge campground.  http://www.toronto.ca/parks/recreation_facilities/camping/index.htm.  It's a city owned campground, and really nice.  It's fairly open with grassy sites.  The sites are large and flat.  We had a site next to the "river".  It's more like a small creek.  Anyway, the campground is in the middle of a city park, near the zoo.

Paula make sure you Canadian Insurance cards.  Just call your insurance agent and they will give them to you.  It is no different crossing with the trailer than without, unless they decide to search your vehicles.  Then it will take longer.  If it were me I would take the trailer.:)

Thank you all..I have so much Stuff, that an inspection of the trailer would take hours...but then I could leave some of it at home...I guess...
I want to go to the Toronto Film Festival which is the early-mid Sept.

Otherwise I have to wait until around Dec. 22 for the Premiere in NYC and that is not something I relish, standing outside around Christmas in NYC...though Christmas shoppers around there do it all the time...

Thank you for the campground info, I will pass it on to my friends who may be joining me!!! Sounds like a winner to me...open in September is good!

Paula, they would just give up on an inspection of your trailer - since you're prepared for everything!!;)

Bronte Creek Provincial Park is where I'd head if I was going to the Toronto area.  Bronte is part of the Ontario Parks system.  Its a nice park.  All sites are serviced.  You can catch the public transit system called the GO Train less then 10 minutes from the campground and from there access anywhere in the Toronto area you could possibly want without the hassles of trying to park in an area where there would be no parking or you would have to pay an arm and leg to use it if indeed you could find it.

Thank you. Basically that was what I did a year and a half ago when I went to DC, went to Greenbelt NP (No services at campsites, but unlike other NPs here, this one has a hot hower in each side in each bathouse. And GB NP is about a milefrom the Metro which I took into DC and back. I agree no parking hassles.

Thanks again! I may be using your crossing as that is how Yahoo maps is mapping me, and I do know the way to Toronto from there as stayed in the NG base at Niagra Falls NY some time ago, we took a foray to Toronto.
But this is Just April 30th and I have until Sept...who knows I may take the Jayco to take and the Windstar, it is lighter and will save $$$ at the gas pump.
