Water Leak Under Sink and Trailer

Hi - we are heading out camping this coming weekend, so we thought we'd put the trailer systems through their paces this past weekend.  We have a Fleetwood Hemlock (the new Niagara) with the non swingout galley.  We have three water leaks that I have located.  Under the sink, where both the hot and cold water tubes connect to the knobs, the water just continually drips out.  There is also a leak under the trailer at one of the "elbow" joints.  It looks like a little brass elbow that connects two pieces of the plastic tubing.  Since we are up against the 4th of July weekend, and I don't think anyone will be able to squeeze us in, I'm hoping to try to fix the leaks myself.  Could it just be a matter of needing some teflon tape?  The connections under the sink have a screw on part, where the tube connects to the faucet, but there is a little piece of metal below that.  I don't know what that is, or if I need to replace that as well.  Anyy suggestions?  I don't even know where to start.

Thanks in advance,
Greg

Welcome to PUT.

I don't know if your camper has small hose clamps where the lines connect to the water faucets, but if you do just tighten the hose clamps.  That is the way my water lines connect to the faucet on my 1999.  As for the brass elbow that is leaking, I would go to a hardware store and in the plumbing section look for plumbing tape.  It is a black tape that you wrap around a leaking hose, pipe, etc. and it seals the leak.  Good luck with fixing the leaks.:)
