Replacement of Stabilizer Jacks

I am considering replacing the stabilizer jacks on my pup and was wondering if anyone else has done this and, if so, what your recommendations might be for replacements. We have a 1997 Starcraft Venture 2108 that we purchased used last year. It was already missing one stabilizer when we bought it. How difficult a process would it be to change these out and would the crank-down type be a better option?

I had the swing down style jacks and like the crank down jacks much better.  You would need to remove the old jacks and probably drill some holes to mount the new jacks.  I purchased BAL light weight crank down stabilizing jacks for my PU form JC Whiteny over the winter.  :)

My '99 Starcraft Venture came with the BAL crank down stabilizers. I'm assuming your '97 has the older jack type stabilizers and I'd bet they are BAL's, too. My thinking is the newer crank downs would probably fit the same bolts holes. I bent one of mine ...  decided to move the camper back an additional 10 foot from where I had orginally set-up, dropped the roof and hitched back up, forgot about the stabilizers and tried to move it back.  Anyway, called Starcraft and they carry them right in their parts department and will ship directly to you providing you live over 50 miles from a dealer (which I do). Rather you can buy directly from Starcraft or not, they can tell you if the ones you want will fit the same holes of the old ones.

Thanks for the information, folks. I'm going to look at some new BAL stabilizers today.
