Loved it.  May not be for everybody, as the campsites are surrounded by green....well green weeds, but we had a great time.  The beach bumps up that number considerably.  It was great for kids, surfers, and kite fliers.  Little hidden beach to the right, and you walk through a mural painted on the pedestrian underpass, so fun for children.

The bathrooms aren't the best I've seen, it was a bit LOUD, but it was a full house.  Lots of tenters, more than I've ever seen.  Our spot was primo.  AS it's May we showed up at 12 even though check in is 2, and got asked where would you like to  be...we hadn't a clue, they told us we'd like 105 near the front, and it was great. our friends were in 107, and we had a communal area that was the largest in the park.

It was local, took us 1 hour from OC, it was cheap $50 for 2 nights, and the beach was lovely even in overcast weather.  Check out my pictures:

Thanks Grizzly!  One other thing, our friends went to a famous Malibu seafood joint, not far from the park, GREAT fried calamari!  It was good cold! YUM! :p

Nice pictures. I hope that you hiked up the river bed there. The kids love that. Lots of stuff to see like frogs, lizards and an abundance of birds and plants.

LeoCarrillo is also a great winter CG. It's often sunnier in the winter than in the summer. Especially now through the end of June.

I hope that you took the cliff walk as well. Here's a pic that I took from there.
