roof a/c?

as a newbie to pop up camping i'll first tell you that i love this site. i have just purchased our first camper, a 91 jayco j1006. it is a very clean camper and appears to be stock with no modifications at all. with 2 kids(6+3) and a pregnant wife, i think it would be wise to have an a/c unit if possible.

is it possible and simple to add a roof unit to my pop-up? it does have a roof vent.

if anyone is familar with this camper please let me know of the nuances or the dos and don'ts of this model.

Welcome to PUT!   Congratulations on the PU and the expected baby.  I am not familiar with you camper, but if you contact Jayco they will be able to tell you if the roof will support an AC unit.  Have a great time camping with your family.

Just to add; put the year model and VIN in the message. They use the info to trace your trailer and they respond better to emails/messages that they know come from trailer owners.

if this is about the same model as you have, you should not have a problem. And if you look at camping worlds site the have a dual heater/ac roof model for those cool evening or hot days,
