Patching Aqualan tent on StarCraft

We have two burn holes (approximately 3 inches diameter each) that we are trying to patch on a tent-end of our StarCraft.  We purchased a repair kit from our dealer, and there was a note inside stating that the adhesive would not hold "Aqualon to Aqualon", meaning the patches we put on the INSIDE are holding fine, but the patch we tried to put on the OUTSIDE isn't sticking at all!

Please help us!  Is there a great adhesive out there we don't know about which would allow us to adhere a patch to the outside of the tenting?

Thanks so much!  We're trying to save money and do it ourselves instead of having the camping store do it!

P.S. For those who want to know, the burn holes are from the interior light of the PopUp being "ON" when the camper was closed-up (freaky accident, which could have been tragic given we store our camper in our garage - attached to house!)  The light fixture burned holes in the tent, and the plastic light cover burned/blistered.

and use this. Worked like a champ on my Starcraft. It will hold so well, make sure you line up the inside and outside pieces perfect!!!!
I messed up the first time I tried, and gave up after 1/2 hr. of trying to get them apart, without doing any more damage.

Since you patched the inside, could you put a layer of Goop on the outside (on top of the patch you placed on the inside)?
