I want to wish everyone a happy Memorial Day.  I went camping last night, by myself.  There were a few people in the campground, but not too many.  I am sure tonight when I go back it will be packed.  My site is along a small stream.  I could hear the water when I went to bed.  I have to work today so I came home to meet my car pool.:)

Bless your heart...too much traffic around here to try to tow on a holiday weekend plus I need to work tomorrow...

Have a happy Memorial Day Every ONE...I will be home enjoying the yard (work).

Happy Memorial Day to you all as well!

Tracy - I missed your IM by about 10 minutes.  I was outside walking Boomer.

We aren't camping this weekend, but I put the boat in the water Thurs night after work and put it in the slip at the Marina on the Hudson River.  We've been out a twice and if the weather's good maybe we'll head out tomorrow as well.  I'll probably pull her out Monday and she'll be back behind the house on the trailer next to the camper.  :D

I don't know about the rest of you, but I had a great/beautiful long camping weekend.  I went to the campground on Thursday after work and set up camp.  Solar covers, AAR, the whole thing. Unloaded a bunch of wood and wrapped it up for the expected Friday rains.  I stayed by myself Thursday night and then came home Friday morning to catch my car pool to work.  Friday after work I came home picked up the kids and  KFC for dinner, and off to the campground we went.  It had rained Friday during the day and then early Saturday morning, before sunrise.  The rest of the weekend was dry and sunny.  Friends came Saturday night about 9:30 and tent camped in the woods behind our site.  We had a great time.  The kids played in the stream that ran along side of our site on Saturday, and on Sunday we went to the beach at the lake and went swimming.  It would have been nice to stay the rest of the week, but work and school = coming home today.  School is over on Friday, so the kids are happy. :)

We just got back from Letchworth Park today.  We set up on Thursday (I had Friday and today off from school), and broke camp this morning.  I'll post our pics when I get a chance.  I'll put up the link with a description of the trip in another thread.  I went through every loop in the campground and took photos of some sites I thought were particularly nice.

I am so glad that you guys were able to get out and camp.  I stayed home and am nursing a bad cold.  I have a stuffy nose, sore throat, chest congestion, sneezing, and am so crabby!  Plus, it is hot here and I had to turn on the a/c, which really bums me out because I like the doors and windows opened.  Oha whoas me.  It is so sad. :(   AND...I still have not got my RVE mag yet!

Dave, I'll be looking forward to the Letchworth Photos. That's one cg we'd like to try. Plan to check it out during this summer's rally.

No camping for us this weekend, but we did some traveling. Went to Rochester Wed/Thurs to collect the college kid and all her stuff. Amazing how much fits into a dorm room. Arrived home at 11:15 pm on Thursday night. Unpacked the van, put the middle seats back into the van along with our Mem weekend stuff and left (1am) for Cape Cod, arriving at breakfast time. Although it was tiring, I definitely prefer driving through NY city and CT when there's no traffic. Had 4 wonderful days there & left this morning. Of course we had perfect weather - it wasn't a camping trip (haha). SO glad the kids got Fri and Tues off (didn't use all their snow days). It was one of those last minute trips and it worked out great.

Tracy, glad you got to go camping. Sorry we couldn't make it this yr. Maybe next time.

I stayed home and did stuff around the house...Raymond is as helpful at home anymore as he is in the campground (hush my mouth).

Got a new table and benches...extruded plastic that looks like concrete, and filled witb 200 lbs of sand, yeah, by myself with my funnel and huge coffee mug...wet sand is a pain to work with, Then decided it would look better under the tree so I moved it off the patio and under the Japanese Red Maple...THEN I decided the grill needed to be higher, got the 8 1/2 concrete blocks we had behind the shed and went to home depot to get 4 more to finish off the grill pad next to the deck part of the patio...Raymond took a nap...had it all done, then set out a box of solar lights. Raymond did get out the battery hedge trimmer and trimmed the hedges where they were sprouting...wish I would ahve gone camping. Spring Gulch is a hop skip and a jump away from me...about 45 minutes...considering that there are no close campgrounds and that is about the closest (Brandywine Meadows is closer and Lums Pond SP, but only has 3 electric sites).

Looking forward to the 9th of June when I will be at Killens camping that weekend. That is about an hour and a half from me.

Our next campout is going to be over the 4th of july weekend at hershey park campground. Hope to attend another cotoc campout sometime.
