So, last weekend we camped down at Campland in San Diego, with the Indian Princess Expedition.  It was a good time....but a very sober time.... :)

DH and I sleep on one end of the pop-up and the girls sleep on the other end.  Anyway, about 3 am on the first night, I hear my little 4-year-old redhead whine out "Mommie!"  I was still in such a sleepy daze, I didn't jump out of bed until I heard "I fell out of the camp trailer!"  I ran over to her bed, she wasn't there, checked and felt that the older sister was still there (still in a bit of a daze---thinking someone had cut open the tenting to take one of them...).  I yelled for her...and she again answered that she had fallen out of the trailer.  I ran and opened the door, and she was right there, outside, shaken.  FINALLY Brandon got up---and somehow she had actually slipped through where the tenting is attached (it must not have been secured, I guess).  Poor baby, but what a trooper!  She told me she landed on her booty!  Ouch!

Have a wonderful Memorial Weekend everybody!

Oh my gosh!  I don't know if I should gasp or laugh, but in any case, I'm glad she's okay!

We're looking forward to seeing you guys next weekend!

Better she landed on her booty than her head!! Glad to hear she's ok. We miss you guys. Hopefully we'll see you next weekend.

You wouldn't have that problem if you came over to the "Darkside"

Oh, you know me...the "darkside" is right up my alley!!  But, Bran likes the pop-up....and since he does all the work, what do I have to complain about...other than my baby falling out in the middle of the night!!!!

Once Bran and I got back in bed that night....we just laughed uncontrollably!!  In fact, I keep hearing her voice in my head saying "I fell out of the camp trailer" and remembering her sad face when I opened up the door to bring her inside...and it cracks me up!!  So bad!

Hoping to see you all next weekend!!

This happened to Matty in our Santa Fe.  He yelled out, Mommy HELP!!  I don't know what time it was but  I went to his side of the trailer to find him holding on for dear life.  I held on to him while dh went outside to catch him.   We didn't secure the bunkends and we now know what will happen if you don't.  We bring it up time and again and Matty, who remembers everything brings it up too.  We now stuff pillows and extra stuff on the ends to be a buffer for them.  It was great when the kids were in diapers because they were served an extra purpose.

It's funny for us but serious for them.  Those poor things.

What I find funny is that after a late night apples to apples game, and a few beers,  I can totally see you sliding out the bunkend of the camper.  That would be hilarious!  LOL

Yes, usually anything odd that can happen to someone usually happens to me....so I am quite surprised it wasn't me who plopped out!!  Of course, give it time!

If the "darkside" includes hybrids - then the dangers still exists!  Our baby fell out our secured bunk this weekend due to a "safety feature" (that I've now eliminated).
