Sorry but I have another popup gizmos question.  In the directions it says "make sure at least 1 inch of the cover is tucked under the edge of the roof".  It is easy in my driveway with a ladder, but what do you do in the field?  I thought I would try to tuck it under when the roof is partially raised but I doubt it will stay.  Not only that but by the time you pull the bunks out and get those set there is no way that  it will stay tucked in.  I know that someone will say they did some kind of velcro mod but COME-ON !  If that is the case, It should have come with a "velcro mod".   Anyone have a suggestion of what they do other than packing a ladder or an elaborate mod?  Thank you in advance.

If you raise the roof about 2 ft. then pull out the bunkends you can clip the gizmos to the canvas with a little tucked under the roof. Just put 1 clip on both sides to hold the gizmo in place till you finish raising the roof.
Hope this makes sense. It sounded good in my head.

I'm not sure why you think that they, "Won't stay". I put mine on about 5 camp-outs ago. I fold-up and leave them right in place. The next time that I pop-up, they are right where I left them.

Every once in a while, a clip will pop off, especially if there is wind. There isn't much that I can do about that. It would do the same if I took them off after each camp-out.

BTW, I don't have Velcro on mine but it has crossed my mind. I have even thought about putting a stitch in the edge where I have each clip. It would be easy to do and the stitches wont fall off in the wind. If I wanted to remove the Gizmos, I would just clip each stitch with a small scissors.

As others have said, just put one clip at each end to hold in place. the installations instructions say the same thing.
I just did the velcro mod on mine. I bought 2 packages of 3 x 2 strips from lowes. I cut them into 1 1/2 x 2 and placed 4 strips approx evenly spaced along the top edge of cover. I then used ammonia to wipe clean the surface I was attaching to. I peeled the adhesive paper off and located a good area on the back side of the roof side wall. Now I don't need to worry about the clips coming off or getting caught in the bunk end material. They say in place during opening and closing. :)

The problem is that when you fold down they become untucked from the roof edge.  for the most part they do stay in place (the clamped sides). I don't want to say that you are wrong because I don't know your set up but when I folded down yesterday the clamped sides stayed in place and te tucked side at the roof came untucked.

Yes....mine come untucked when I fold down as well. When you fold down, the tension releases on the tent material as well as the Gizmos. However, when I fold up the next time, they go right back in place as the tension is once again restored. I did put mine way up inside the top though.

Recumbentman had a good idea with the Velcro on the top edge. Although, as I said, I just haven't found the need to do so.

I popped up in the back driveway to work on a few things and one is the gizmo attachment to the roof.  I'm going with the velcro, although I can see where the clamps would also work.  Did you hand sew or use a machine to attach velcro to the covers.

ccarr you have to clip the covers to get them to stay in place when the roof is only part of the way up.:)

I had little faith but it worked just like you guys said it would.  Thank you!  I just made sure the clamps were up under the roof edge and the covers went right in place.  You guys are good thank you again.

I put Velcro on my Gizmos and stapled the other side to the roof. Works great.Moose
