We just purchased a 2003 Jayco Qwest 10B, which has the original owner's manual.  However,  it did not have the original 5 gal fresh water tank.  The dealer said he could get us one for $100.  Our question is this:  We are pretty sure that the sink has a manual water pump and the hose from the faucet that would apparantly lead to the tank is there.  Do we have to buy the Jayco replacement tank or will any 5 gal fresh water tank that will fit in the cupboard under the sink do?  Does it need any special hose or connection or does the faucet create the necessary pressure to pump the water from it's holding tank to the sink?

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!  This website is AWESOME!

I suspect what your looking for is the same thing I have in my Starcraft Venture ... they call it a "portable" water tank.  It has the regular opening for filling with water but also has a smaller opening at the oposite (top) end for where the pump hose attaches so that you can draw the water up to the sink via that sink hand pump. These items are pretty standard and I should think it's exactly the same thing. I guess your Jayco dealer would get you one for a hundred bucks! Thought Starcraft's pricing was out of line @ $58.00! You can call the Starcraft factory (parts department) and buy one. There would be a shipping charge added to it ... maybe another fifteen dollars. It's called a "J-2" water jug.

Another place you might cheack, as I heard they have the very same thing for half Starcraft's price, and that would be Camping World. Whatever ... anyway I really like the idea of the water "tank" being portable as it sure makes re-filling a lot easier!  Since I do a great deal of cooking, dish washing and such outside, also have one of those blue potable water containers with a spigot (7 gal?) that I bought from Wally-World for use outside ... usually put it on one end of the C/G picnic table. When I "take on water", I fill both containers and have water for doing the outside "thing" and still have water inside for whatever, especially "after hours" or should I awake to a rainning morn and NEED my coffee.
