Finally moved the popup out to the back driveway to have some room.  Want to replace the pressure relief valve.  It lets water run out even with no warm temperatures, basically anytime the heater fills up.  Have you replaced yours?
Did you have to remove all the gas line and controls to get to it.  Mine seems to be set so that I can't get a large wrench onto the valve.  I'm alos goin to change the anode out, the heater is 4 years old and I know it's about a 1 and 1/16 socket.  Any suggestions on changing out the pressure relief valve.  I'm pretty sure it is defective because it can't hold any water pressure even when stone cold.

Jim,

A special socket is made that goes over the T&P valve.  Using this socket you don't need to get a wrench in there.

Universal T & P Valve Remover from Camco.  Camco supplies most RV dealers including on-line ones.  You should be able to find this many places.

Thank you for the helpful info on the socket.  I was able to remove my prv this afternoon by tapping on a wrench until I got it loose.  I am going by the local rv store tomorrow and pick up the proper socket for this.  Also wanted to let you know that I've seen your Natasha pictures and we also have a beautifl SMokey Dakota german shepherd that camps and travels with us all the time.

again thanks

Went or called the major rv dealers in our area and none had the socket in stock.  I can see at their generic online store that they each seem to subscribe to the socket sells for a nice hefty price and then they hit you with the shipping.  I ship items everyday at work ups and have a rate book for shipping cost and see that they have a nice markup on the shipping.  Extra profit besides the cost of the socket.  Decided not to order it and was careful with the wrenches.  Got the prv and the new anode in no problem and the heater works great.  Thanks to everyones repsonses and help.

Glad you were able to get it out.  Yea, just buying the single tool can kill you with shipping.  This is one of those things you look for when wandering around a big RV parts department or you add on to another on line order.

Happy camping.
