is there any way to repair a rip in the canvas of a colman pup?

Gone-Camping

Needle and thread, and a tube of seam sealer!!

When the canvas tore in my old Starcraft, I took the canvas section off the trailer, and sent it out to a local guy that worked on canvas things, he placed some patches on it that the color matched very well too...

Get yourself one of these , and you can patch up virtually anything, especially your tenting!  Get some seam sealer at a camping/outdoors sporting good shop for extra measure.

Your local Fleetwood dealer will have pieces of sunbrella fabric, (especially later model colors).  The factory ships the PopUps with pieces tucked between the clean factory tenting and the new shiny stainless steel, (and sometimes greasy) lifter arms.  Many dealers keep these for patches, just like your situation.

Depending on how bad the rip is, you can also replace that section of canvas.  The dealer can order it for you and replacement is easy.  I am not handy AT ALL and I did it myself.

No, no, no, don't sew it...that is old fashioned.  Get some Tear-Aid from the Popup Times store and you will be fixed up and ready to go in no time.  This stuff works great.

Here is the link for the PUT store patch product.  I would use that instead of sewing too.:)

If the tenting is dry rotted it will end up tearing somewhere else, but if you don't want to get new canvas it is your only choice.  Sewing the dry rotted tenting will not hold very well.  The no sew patches would be better.  Good luck with the fix.:)
