Hi Everyone,

A couple of months ago I asked if anyone had camped at Lake Skinner near Murrieta and Temecula Ca. No one responded so I was very hesitant in booking a weekend. Well I took a chance sent out an e-mail to all our camping friends and booked the 11 sites. The week before our trip my DH kept reminding me it was getting hotter and hotter in that area.  I was so worried because DH hates the heat and if he isn't happy camping it is hard for me to enjoy myself.  So being the great guy he is he started brain storming how he sould stay cool while camping.  Friday 7/21 at 3:00 we were loaded down with my mother in laws portable a/c, a misting system, super soakers, and water balloons.   We arrived at about 4:00 and it was 107.  That was the hardest setting up I have ever experienced my self. (but did I complain? No way) Finally we were all set up, the mister was in place and wonderful the heat became tolerable.  Saturday it peaked between 111 to 115 depending what part of the park you were in.
The kids were in the pool which is called the lagoon for about 4 hours. Then they came back to our site and played in the nemo sprinkler. Some of the parents decided to try the Slip and Slide. What a laugh!

We had a great time in spite of the heat. This campground is totally flat. There isn't much shade but there are three huge grass areas. Our sites were up against the grass so the kids ran and played and got wet out of the roadway and the campsites. Our group tried fishing but no bites. The bathrooms are decent. They have a camp store and on the weekends there is a bar-b-q rib
restaurant on the premesis.

I highly recomend this campground. Lake Skinner recreational area riversidecountyparks.org

Thanks for the review.  I believe in reviews because they strip away the glitz and glitter of a web site or pamphlet write-up.  I wish more people would write campground reviews, even if the campground has been reviewed before.

As a friendly reminder, campground reviews are most helpful in the Campground Review forums.  That's where people go to find campground reviews. :-)

Woops I did it again. I always seem to post stuff in the wrong place.
I will pay closer attention next time.

Thanks
