Pop Up Trailer Tire Load Range

We own a 2003 Flagstaff 206 LTD popup trailer.  The trailer came with 12 inch Carlisle tires load range D.  It is time to replace the tires.  I want to go up to a 13 inch tire.  I am partial to Goodyear or Titan.  I cannot seem to find a Goodyear or Titan 13 incher with a load range D rating.  The closest is Load range C.  We are very careful never to overload our little rig.  Is a load range C an appropriate load range for a popup?  Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Well first of all load range comparison only works on tires of the same size. As in a load range C tire will carry more than a load range B tire of the same size.
What you need to look for is the WEIGHT RATING. It's right on the sidewall alongside the size designation.
Then compare weight ratings for the 13 inch size you want to use and just amke sure it's the same or higher than the weight rating of the OEM 12 inchers..

Don't know about your Flagstaff, but my little Starcraft has the 12" tires and the wheels have four holes for mounting and my previous larger popup was a Coleman/Fleetwood which had 13" tires and the wheels had five holes. Plus the present 12" four holers use lug BOLTS to secure to the axle while the 13' five holers use lug NUTS. So, at least in my case, I'd have to re-axle to accommodate the 13" tires.

Check the weight rating on the tires.  Make sure they are "ST" special trailer tires and make sure you have clearance in the wheel well for a bigger tire.  Good luck with the new tires.
