So about 2months ago my lid to my cargo bin blew off.  Coleman finally sent me another and I am trying to put it on myself.  Since that top rim of the bin cracked I need to replace it too.  Under the front bunk there are about 3-4 screws I cant get to.  It looks like I will need to remove the bunk.

Is this something that is particularly difficult to do, or am I barking up the wrong tree????

thx

I replaced the whole front cargo trunk on my 01 Niagara about three years ago. At the time I was doing a complete remodeling of it's interior and had removed all the cabinets, shower/toilet and paneling. The inside was completely bare so I had no trouble reaching the inside fastenings of the trunk.  Removing the old trunk and installing the new took about three hours and I did it by myself. I did not have to remove the bunk in order to reach the top fastenings. THey can be removed with the bunk closed. I don't know if your 99 has the same trunk or fastenings as the 01's.....

I have a 2002 Coleman Westlake. I ordered a new plastic cargo lid and the top plastic bezel which it mounts to a week ago. When it comes in and I dig into it, I can let you know anything that I find out. I don't know if it will be the same as yours or not.

Did your plastic come with any fasteners, hinges, or locks?

Well to take my front deck off I couldnt see any way to get there without taking the bunk out.  So I did and got the deck off but ran into a couple of snags.

The first was that the new one doesnt come with anything but the hinge for the lid which is already attached.  I am a beginner diy-er so this makes things a little tough for me.  I needed to try and match up a rubbery seal with stick-em on both sides around the outside of the deck at somewhere like Home Depot or something.  I would have thought silicone would do, but since that stuff was on from factory I guess I sould try to use it.

Also since it didnt come with any latches to hold the lid down, I have to buy some and here locally they are $10.50 each x4.  My lid blew off on the highway so I couldnt salvage them...so save em if you got em.

Let us know how it goes as we have to replace that part it attaches to also and are looking for the parts.

DH suggested using a hair dryer to heat up the glue that hold the benzel down so you don't crack the storage bin when taking it off.
