I had some of the best corn on the cob of the season tonight.  Some of the sweetest I ever had.  This had so much sugar, it must be what they use to make ethanol.

Anyway, I noticed I started eating on the small end, something I never do.  Made me wonder how other people eat their corn on the cob.

How do you eat it?

Austin, Can the leftover corn cobs be used to make ethanol?.....

sacrawf - You voted "Other - do tell" but then you didn't tell!  :yikes:  So how do you eat corn on the cob???

I start around the cob at the big end, then go to the small end and eat around the cob, then go row by row.

SO I said "other" Ok. I eat my corn in rows, from left to right. I have no clue if tit's the big or little end. I think it's just however it's handed to me. But always in rows, left to right.

I eat it from left to right, then back the other way!  Sometimes, I even go right to left! :D   It really dosn't matter which end is bigger, just a random event depending on how I pick it up!

Yup, And they are still used there these days, but for emergency use only, like when the Sears catalog only has slick pages left in it...............

I always eat lengthwise starting on the left side.  Sometimes it's the big end, sometimes it's the small end.  I guess it depends on which way it grew on the stalk.

I go around each end, then alternate back & forth until I reach the middle.  Just had some GREAT corn last night, fresh from an Iowa cornfield, Yum!

You must use corn cobs all the time; Sears hasn't published a catalog in over five years!

Excuse the mistake...JC Penny catalogs have taken their place......

one row at a time.... pick it clean.!!!! cob looks like Heckle and Jeckle got to it.
Plunge lower teeth into rows and twisting cob down and pick the kernels off clean :-()

Holding the big end in the right hand, the small end in the left and starting on the big end working over in 1in strips until the row is complete. Then repeat until it's all gone. Some times I save the small end (1in band) for last because it's fun to manually remove the kernels and pop them into one's mouth.

I'm saddened by a lack of corn this year, right when we learned how to improve cheap ears.

Shuck them, but them in a bag with a tiny bit of water, after rubbing them in oil(butter) and sugar. Leave in the fridge over night to power up and ta-da~ better, better corn. ^_^
