I've been pricing generators as we have a weekend trip planned and temps are forecast in the mid to upper 80's.

I tested our Popup's AC here (plugged into our house) in Phoenix the last few days and it really cools the popup - down to 82 degrees when ~101 outside. Quite comfy for sleeping in my perspective.

Anyway, went to Cabella's yesterday to look at the 2400 unit (Yamaha

I have always heard the Yammys are pretty quiet. So, you aren't impressed with its quietness?

Is there a website for the Discount Cave?

To run the AC, the Yamaha is at full throttle, and a little louder than I had hoped for. I think other campers nearby would be perturbed by it. I like it quiet at night (grew up in the country), so having this nearby would bother me.

No website that I am aware of for the discount cave that I am aware of - it's simply returned items that are for re-sale.

I agree with you Rawhidekid....We have the Honda generator and even though it IS much quieter than most generators, I can  hear it...and that's not what i like to hear when we're in the outdoors... We have used it a couple of times in a couple of campgrounds early in the day when everyone else is running theirs, mostly to charge our battery, or for a quick....ok...hair dryer use...  ;>    but I'd never run this at night in a campground where anyone else was around.  Boondocking it might be realllllllll nice though....   unfortunately, there aren't any good boondocking places around our area.
