I plan to go to an RV show Feb 2nd in Charlotte, NC.  I heard about some popups being at other shows, but no one has mentioned the Monteray from Coleman.  Are they not selling well, not a good product, or just not being displayed this year?  Would at least like to get a glance at one.

Does anyone here own one?  If so, let me know what you think about it.[:)]

I didn t get to see it all set up because they were more interested in demonstrating the automatic set up feature.

NCSunshineI saw one at the RV show in Harrisburg PA last September.  They didn t have it set up all the way, just putting it up and down.  I did see one thing I didn t like about it.  Looking at the floor plan in the brochure it looks like you could access the fridge when the trailer is closed.  Wrong, the hutch swings down onto the big empty spot on the floor and you loose access to the fridge and a lot of storage room.[: (]

I saw one set up at the Greeensboro, nc Rv show. But did not get to see it in action. NO batteries were allowed inside the exibition hall. Once the stuff/rv s are moved inside all battteries had to be removed. I dont know why they could not work it with power box, but they just had it set up and open it was nice on the inside.

NCSunshineWe saw one in action at the Pontiac, MI rv show this past weekend.  The unit they were demonstrating had the canvas removed.  The top goes up and the bunk ends go out, just as advertised.  The lifting and lowering were extremely quiet.  This was the only advantage I see, and seems quite a premium price over a $100 drill motor, which could handle the lifting of the roof.  Pulling/pushing the bunk ends in and out, and lowering the roof really doesn t seem to require much effort.

The Monterey has a pedestal table in the dinette which sits sideways and I guess would allow for more bodies the sit at the table.  My wife and I prefer the floor plan of the Utah as it appears to accommodate more bodies.

NCSunshineWe saw one in Pleasanton RV in Northern Ca. in the beginning of the month.  I was very impressed with the Monterey, it looks like Coleman has listened to what people have suggested over the years.  I liked it!!!!!!!!!
