Has anyone stayed at this park? If so, what is your opinion of it? Favorite Sites? Sites to avoid? Thanks!

garym053here is a thread from the old forum with a positive review: [link=http://www.popuptimes.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=19559]GOOD (Western) Mass. camping[/link]

Only thing...they call it Mohawk Trail State Forest (not State Park).  May be a different facility.

garym053Thanks, Austin. You are right it is state forest, not park. I made reservations there for June, so I ll find out!

garym053I don t know if you have visted this web site. But this should help in makeing a choice on Massachusetts State parks in the area your looking for.

garym053Thanks, BrBorns! I do use that site and I have stayed in several Mass. State Parks, most of them I ve ended up wishing I had not stayed there. The worst was Horseneck Beach! Bathrooms were disgusting with half eaten food all over the floor a half dead frogin one, lights that obviously hadn t worked for years. The sites were so close that two guys just talking by their campfire kept us up until 2am! Campsites with cigarette butts more plentiful than grass! Wells State Park near Sturbridge, MA seems nice although it was only a visit and not overnight. Lake Dennison S.P. is very quiet, although the bathrooms COULD have used a little extra cleaning and one of the toilets didn t work at all.
I m sure the state, like most others, is suffering from lack of money, but we re only talking a few hundred dollars in light fixtures and a new toilet, and some job training on cleaning and raking!

OOPS! To explain the LONG story, THAT is why I ask for peoples  opinions on this board! State advertising is very accurate, the people on this board won t lead you on!
