[putting moderator hat on]

I've noticed over the last couple of weeks as we've all been getting more psyched and are chomping at the bit about going camping this weekend, there have been multiple threads created to update informaton for a single rally. That can pose some problems, in that the attendees of the rally now have to check out more than one thread to get info on the rally and it may never be clear how many threads actually exist that they need to locate and read. Multiple threads can also lead to confusion as to which thread is now the operative thread for the rally, and they increase the risk that someone will miss one of the threads concerning the rally and will miss out on some important info posted in one of the many threads.

So to help remedy this, I've now "stickied" any upcoming posted trips to the top of the SCCampers forum. That way, we'll all know where to look for the latest info on a future rally and won't chance missing out on any important info. If you post in the SCCampers forum about a trip that you'll be taking, I'll try to notice it and sticky it as well. If I don't get to it within a reasonable amount of time, feel free to pm or e-mail me and let me know.

I hope this sticky system will be helpful in getting the word out there of all the upcoming trips this fun group has planned!

No worries Roberta--it's a common instinct to want to create new threads to update everyone, but most people just click on "view new posts" at the top of the web page (at least tha's what I do) and then any new posts to a thread cause that thread to be included in the line up.  I just didn't want anyone to miss all the important info you had to tell them.

I probably could move the posts from the additional threads and combine them into one, but since the rally's this weekend, it's not that big of a deal. If you'd like, I could lock two of the threads and direct everyone to one thread so that all the information would be contained in one place for everyone to find it...juust let me know if you like that idea.  If not, it's NBW. :)

Lori,
It doesn't matter to me either.  Maybe after the weekend we can lock em up or delete or whatever so there is only one post.  I have had so much response to this event,  thinking about making it a yearly event.  Can't believe it...even at the last minute, it's still growing.  i had no idea.  I don't even have an accurate count anymore.  (you're right about too many threads, ha ha).   You guys have a great time too.

Well done on offering an enticing rally, Madam Wagonmaster! :#

ONe addition to my original post in this thread:

Once the rally has happened, I'll unstick the thread after a couple of weeks have gone by, just so we don't have too many non-relevant threads stuck at the top of our forum.  :)

Right on the flower power rally. Don't let me forget the Claritin.
